Description: Are you passionate about volunteering and think you could convince other volunteers to be passionate about it as well? Are you organized? You would make a great Volunteer Coordinator for Genderbands! We are looking for an energetic and organized volunteer to manage Genderbands’ volunteer database and help recruit new volunteers. In this part-time, partly remote position, you will gain invaluable experience in every area of volunteer management, from recruiting and training new volunteers to delegating and coordinating roles for existing volunteers.
Job Responsibilities
Recruit new volunteers
Contact new volunteer applicants
Facilitate volunteer training (several trainings are online and will just require you to make sure they finish it)
Assign volunteer duties
Fill volunteer positions from existing volunteer database as needs arise
Coordinate volunteer shift schedules
Ensure volunteer hours are properly tracked using Homebase App
Ensure group facilitators attend meetings
Communicate with volunteers via Slack and email
Provide weekly overviews of Genderbands activities in Slack
Add new volunteers to Genderbands’ Slack and Facebook groups
Manage volunteer appreciation
Other duties as needed
Report to Executive Director (ED)
Communicate with ED regularly via Zoom and Slack to advise on program progress
Benefits
Work from home! This is a partly remote position. The successful candidate can work from home or from another location with Internet access to complete most of their duties. The candidate may occasionally need to come in person for trainings or volunteer activities.
Flexible schedule; average of 5-10 hours per week

Requirements
5-10 hours per week, flexible schedule
Previous experience in volunteer management and/or recruiting is preferred but not required
Must wear a mask at all Genderbands in-person meetings and events, regardless of vaccination status or whether the event is indoors or outdoors
Able to use own computer/device to complete work (computer will not be provided for you)
Have reliable transportation (transportation will not be provided or reimbursed)
Familiar with Google Drive and Slack, or willing to learn
Zoom installed on work device
Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication skills, patience, and ability to work well with others
Passion for Genderbands’ mission of helping transgender people pay for transition-related costs
