Genderbands is excited to be putting on our 6th annual Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest (formerly Utah Trans Pride Festival).
The Trans Pride-N-Joy Festival is a unique event put on by Genderbands. This festival celebrates, centers, and brings visibility to our amazingly diverse transgender/nonbinary community.

Does it cost anything to attend Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest?
Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest is free! Please consider donating or volunteering if you would like to help the festival!
Will there be alcohol at the event?
This will be an alcohol-free event.
Will there be vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free food options?
Sugar House Coffee is the food vendor for this event. Please consult their menu if you have dietary concerns. https://sugarhousecoffee.com/one-page/discover-menu/
Will there be a place to go if I get too hot or overwhelmed?
We will be offering a "Chill Zone" tent, which will have air conditioning and sensory toys to help you chill. There will be a time limit to allow for everyone to have a chance to enjoy the space but don’t worry, you can come back.
Can I opt out of photographs?
Yes. We will have "Consent Cues" badges available to participants so you can demonstrate your willingness to be touched, chatted with, or photographed.
How do I apply to be a volunteer?
Our volunteer application will be available soon! Contact us (pride@genderbands.org) with any questions. We would love to have the volunteer support of your organization!
How can I support the event as an individual?
--Follow us on social media then Like, comment, and share posts regarding the event. --To help us get the word out, show you are "Interested" in the event on Facebook and like and share our posts. The more interest our event gets, the more sponsors we can attract and the bigger our event can be. --To financially support us, consider sponsoring with a "friends"-level sponsorship, or buy a festival tee shirt! --We are looking for volunteers to provide in-person support during the event. Fill out the volunteer application above. --In-kind donations are graciously accepted and include: sensory objects (spinners, pop-its, stress balls, magic sand), COVID prevention supplies (masks, hand sanitizers), sun protection (hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, fans), and consumables (water bottles, otter pops, candy, snacks). Items can be branded with company logos or plain.
Is this an all-ages event?
Yes!
Will there be a police presence at the event?
We are required by the city to have 2 police officers present. We will have hired security as well as volunteer security. There will be security and traffic-style barricades around the perimeter of the park. There is a staffed entrance and exit on the South and North side of the park. Festival attendees will have wristbands.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
If you have dietary restrictions, you may bring food for yourself. Otherwise, please support Sugar House Coffee.
What steps are being taken to make the festival accessible?

What are the COVID protocols for the event?
Masks are not but highly recommended, especially if you are feeling ill. This is an open-air event but social distancing is still encouraged. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the festival and masks will be available at the Info Booth.
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
All ages can volunteer! Volunteers 15 and under must volunteer with a guardian , and volunteers 16-17 must have a guardian's permission to volunteer.
