Description: Do you enjoy planning parties and activities that all your friends actually want to attend? You would make a great Program Director for Genderbands! We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic volunteer to plan and manage Genderbands’ social activities and support gatherings. In this part-time, partly remote position, you will play a vital role in making sure each activity is successful and provides the highest possible value to the community.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee support gatherings and social activities
Plan and facilitate social events including movie nights, game nights, etc.
Reach out to and confirm guest presenters for social events
Cultivate existing relationships and develop new relationships with community members and organizations to jointly host activities
Facilitate support gatherings when the regular facilitators are unavailable
Ensure program volunteers are tracking their hours
Track actitvity attendance
Other duties as needed
Report to Executive Director (ED)
Communicate with ED regularly via Zoom and Slack to advise on program progress
Benefits
This is a partly remote position. The successful candidate can work from home or from another location with Internet access to complete most of their duties. The candidate only needs to attend activities in person.
Flexible schedule; average of 5-10 hours per week. Hours depend on if there are activities planned.
Requirements
5-10 hours per week, flexible schedule
Previous experience in program management is preferred but not required
Social activities are typically twice a month on Saturdays, but not always. The Program Director will need to attend and facilitate when there is no guest presenter for the activity.
Must wear a mask at all Genderbands in-person meetings and events, regardless of vaccination status or whether the event is indoors or outdoors
Able to use own computer/device to complete work (computer will not be provided for you)
Have reliable transportation (transportation will not be provided or reimbursed)
Familiar with Google Drive and Slack, or willing to learn
Zoom installed on work device
Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication skills
Passion for Genderbands’ mission of helping transgender people pay for transition-related costs
