Description: Has it always been your dream to grow your follower count into a small empire on Twitter? Do your parents complain you spend too much time on your phone and never stop checking your Instagram? You would make a great Marketing Team Member for Genderbands! We are looking for a creative and media-savvy volunteer to help tell Genderbands’ story to diverse audiences and drive viewers to become both donors and fans of Genderbands. In this part-time, remote position, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience generating marketing ideas, analyzing their potential effectiveness, and seeing your ideas come to life as professional marketing campaigns and promotions.
Job Responsibilities
Work with marketing team to generate ideas for marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and fundraising promotions
Generate ideas for fliers, posters, and other physical promotional materials
Generate ideas for viral social media content
Understand Genderbands’ brand guidelines to ensure marketing campaigns are consistent with the brand message
Create content to post on Genderbands’ social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook)
Submit desired posting dates and promos to Social Media Manager
Research ways to increase engagement from our target audience on different social media platforms
Utilize diverse methods to increase engagement
Other duties as needed
Work closely with Social Media Manager, TikTok Content Creator, and marketing board member
Report to Executive Director (ED)
Communicate with Social Media Manager regularly via Zoom and Slack

Work from home! This is a remote position. The successful candidate can work from home or from another location with Internet access to complete their duties.
Flexible schedule; average of 5-10 hours per week
Requirements
5-10 hours per week, flexible schedule
Previous experience in marketing is strongly preferred but not required
Must wear a mask at all Genderbands in-person meetings and events, regardless of vaccination status or whether the event is indoors or outdoors
Able to use own computer/device to complete work (computer will not be provided for you)
Familiar with Google Drive and Slack, or willing to learn
Zoom installed on work device
Able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Command of the best practices for each social media platform Genderbands uses (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook)
Experience with Canva is a plus
Outstanding communication skills
Excellent creative thinking skills
Passion for Genderbands’ mission of helping transgender people pay for transition-related costs
