Genderbands is excited to be putting on our 5th annual Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest (formerly Utah Trans Pride Festival).
The Trans Pride-N-Joy Festival is a unique event put on by Genderbands. This festival celebrates, centers, and brings visibility to our amazingly diverse transgender community.

Does it cost anything to attend Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest?
Trans Pride-N-Joy Fest is a free event, but donations will be graciously accepted. You can donate at genderbands.org/donate or Venmo @genderbands IF YOU USE VENMO PLEASE PUT IN THE COMMENTS THAT IT'S A DONATION! We will have designated entrances and exits. You will receive a wristband when you enter. This helps us track attendance.
Will there be alcohol at the event?
No alcohol is permitted at the festival. Alcohol will be available at the after-party.
Will there be vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free food options?
We are actively working to connect with food vendors who can offer these options at the festival, but cannot guarantee all dietary restrictions can be met.
Will there be a place to go if I get too hot or overwhelmed?
We will be offering a "Chill Zone" tent this year, which will have air conditioning and sensory toys to help you chill. There will be a time limit to allow for everyone to have a chance to enjoy the space but don’t worry, you can come back.
Where do I park?
You can park at Provo Peaks Elementary school next door or on the street. Please save street parking along Center Street for those with mobility aids or other accessibility needs. If you park in the neighborhoods on the 150 N side be sure to not block any driveways or you will receive a parking ticket. There is an entrance to Memorial park on Center Street and 800 E and one at 150 North and 800 E.
Are dogs allowed in the venue?
Yes, well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome to attend. If owners or doggos are not well-behaved or don’t pick up after themselves, they will be asked to leave. Some attendees will have service animals, please remember your manners and ask before approaching or petting any animal at the festival!
How do I apply to be a volunteer?

How can I support the event as an individual?
--Follow us on social media then Like, comment, and share posts regarding the event. --To help us get the word out, show you are "Interested" in the event on Facebook and like and share our posts. The more interest our event gets, the more sponsors we can attract and the bigger our event can be. --To financially support us, consider sponsoring with a "friends"-level sponsorship. --We are looking for volunteers to provide in-person support during the event. Fill out the volunteer application above. --In-kind donations are graciously accepted and include: sensory objects (spinners, pop-its, stress balls, magic sand), COVID prevention supplies (masks, hand sanitizers), sun protection (hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, fans), and consumables (water bottles, otter pops, candy, snacks). Items can be branded with company logos or plain.
Is this an all-ages event?
Yes!
Will there be a police presence at the event?
We are required by the city to have 2 police officers present. We will have hired security as well as volunteer security. There will be security and traffic-style barricades around the perimeter of the park. There is a staffed entrance and exit on the South and North side of the park. Festival attendees will have wristbands.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
If you have dietary restrictions, you may bring food for yourself. Otherwise, please support the food vendors. You may bring in an EMPTY, refillable water bottle. We will have water available.
What steps are being taken to make the festival accessible?
--The Chill Zone --Booths are along the sidewalks --Free earplugs --Extra seating throughout the festival grounds --Braille signs --ASL interpreters during the entertainment --Food vendors who offer items for those with dietary restrictions. --The stage is positioned away from the vendors to reduce noise. --A ramp for the stage --Entrance/Exit on both sides of the park to reduce walking distance --Free festival and a reasonably priced after-party. --The afterparty venue has no stairs for attendees and only 3 steps for performers to enter the stage.
What are the COVID protocols for the event?
Masks are not required but highly recommended, especially if you are feeling ill. This is an open-air event but social distancing is still encouraged. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the festival and masks will be available at the Info Booth near the festival front entrance at Center and 800E.
Can I opt out of photographs?
Yes. We will have "Consent Clues" badges available to participants so you can demonstrate your willingness to be touched, chatted with, or photographed.
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
All ages can volunteer! Volunteers 15 and under must volunteer with a guardian , and volunteers 16-17 must have a guardian's permission to volunteer.
